Furosemide 20-40mg with Spironolectyone 50mg

INDICATIONS:

Refractory oedema, hypertension associated with secondary hyperaldosteronism.

DOSE

ADULT: 1-4 tablet in morning.

Children:  not recommended.

CONTRA-IND: Severe or progressive renal failure. Precomatose states associates with liver cirrhosis. Hyperkalaemia; addison’s disease.

PRECAUTIONS: prostatic hypertrophy, impaired micturition. Hepatic or renal impairment. Diabetes. Pregnancy, lactation . gout. Avoid long term use in toung patients.

INTRACTIONS: K+ supplements, K+ -sparing diuretic , anti hypertensive , ACE inhibitors, digitalis, lithium, aminoglycosides, cephalosporins, NSAIDs.

ADVERSE EFFECTS: GL upset , rash, goput, blood dyscrasias, gynaecomastia.
